2025 Ladder

 

 

 

 

To all Club members:        **  As we have a number of new members already, as well as more coming, we will give them a chance to get into the random draw.  So we will start the ladder on Wednesday, 30th April

Now that the bowling season has begun, we are getting ready to start this year’s Ladder.  Players of all abilities, including brand new players, are strongly encouraged to join the ladder.  It is a lovely way to meet other members, and to improve your game.  Last year, 38 members played in the Ladder.  We usually start the Ladder early in the season and run it through until the end of September each year.

For those who are unfamiliar with the concept of a ladder, it consists of a list of Ladder members with the ranking initially done by a random draw*. One member challenges another member, (who is above them on the Ladder), to a match and, depending on the result of the match, the two players will either switch places on the Ladder or retain their original places.  The aim is to get as high up the ladder as you can before the season runs out.

 

There is no prize at the end.  We do this strictly for glory!  And the scores of each match are never recorded – we only need to know who won the match.

 
If you are happy to join the Ladder, click on the ’To Join - Email here’ link.  That link should bring you to your email programme, with the Recipient ‘booking.prestburybc@gmail.com’ already filled in for you, as well as the Subject Line, ‘Join the Ladder’.  Just give us your contact details - name and phone numbers, home and mobile, (if you have one), and email address you would like to be contacted on (if different from the address already used).  We will acknowledge your request to join and, shortly after, your name will appear in the “Entries received by” list on the Ladder page.  We will ALWAYS confirm an entry, challenge, result etc.  So if you think you’ve entered, and you haven’t had a reply, then we haven’t got it, so do get in touch with Darlene on the number below.

Following the random draw, we will publish the live Ladder on the website shortly afterwards.  Once the ladder is published, you will receive an email confirming that the Ladder is now live. 

 

You can join the Ladder at any time throughout the season, but if you join after the draw has been done, you will automatically be placed at the bottom of the ladder – which still gives you plenty of time to rise to the top!

**  By participating in the Ladder, you will be agreeing to share your contact details with the other Ladder participants.  All players will be emailed with a list of those contact details.

A slight change from our usual random draw - this year the top 15 players, as at the end of last season, will be placed randomly at the BOTTOM of the table.  All other entrants will be randomly drawn at the upper end of the ladder.
